JASMINE DE NIKE

Jasmine discovered her passion for volleyball in seventh grade and has never looked back. She played throughout high school for Lake Travis High School and competed at the club level with Austin Juniors, where she was a part of the national team for Cedar Park. At age 17, she proudly competed in the Junior Olympics. Now in her 30s, she continues to train and stay active in the game through sand volleyball, believing that there’s always room to grow and improve—at any age.

Her coaching journey began over seven years ago with LTYA (Lake Travis Youth Association), where she volunteered to coach even while her son was just a year old. What began as a way to give back quickly became a true calling. Through those early seasons, she fell in love with the art of coaching, building strong fundamentals and creating lasting memories with her teams—including a few gold medal finishes.

Her experience expanded when she joined the team at Hill Country Indoor (HCI), where she worked in the volleyball department and also began offering private lessons. It was at HCI that she met Mattie from West Austin Volleyball, who offered her a head coaching role in 2020. Since then, she has coached with West Austin Volleyball, a program that has shaped her coaching style, challenged her to grow, and strengthened her ability to motivate players to push past limits.

Over the years, she has led multiple teams to championship wins, including the 2025 Select Team Title, and remains dedicated to giving every player her best. Her ultimate goal is not just to teach the game, but to inspire her athletes to become even better than she ever was—both on and off the court.

KYLE DE NIKE

Kyle’s love for sports began at the age of three, starting with soccer and quickly expanding to basketball. By the time he was eight, playing sports had become his passion. At 14, he discovered football, and it was then that his competitive nature truly took off. Sports were no longer just a pastime—they became a driving force in his life.

At 20, he joined the Air Force, where he was first introduced to indoor volleyball. Aside from a few games in high school PE, volleyball was new to him—but from the moment he played, he was hooked. That initial spark led him to sand volleyball, where his love for the game deepened even further.

What draws him to volleyball is how it pushes athletes to excel in every aspect of physical and mental performance. Passing, setting, and hitting are all essential, and success requires mastery in all phases. He sees volleyball as the ultimate team sport, demanding a unique blend of individual skill and collective chemistry. For him, it brings out an unmatched level of competitiveness—a mindset that balances fierce confidence with humility. When he steps on the court, he plays with the belief that he’s the best—not out of arrogance, but out of a deep inner drive to win and improve.

As a coach, his mission is to instill that same competitive confidence in his players while teaching the best techniques to help them grow into complete volleyball athletes. Though coaching women’s volleyball is a new chapter in his journey, it’s one he embraces with excitement and intensity. It’s a challenge that pushes him to elevate his own game—and his coaching philosophy.

One of the most rewarding parts of coaching for him is teaching the skills he’s learned through years of experience and watching players grow into those skills with confidence and pride. The opportunity to coach alongside his wife, Jasmine, adds another layer of meaning to this experience. With her longer background in volleyball, particularly indoors, and his diverse athletic foundation, they bring complementary strengths to the court.

Together, they make a dynamic coaching duo. Both are highly competitive and deeply committed to their players—not just as athletes, but as people. As player-focused coaches, they strive to build real relationships with their team, blending friendship with mentorship and high standards with support. Their shared goal is to help every player reach their full potential, both on and off the court.
